Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026

TameTube is a Chrome extension that runs entirely in your browser, only on youtube.com. It does not collect, transmit, or sell any data.

Data Collection

TameTube collects no personal data. It has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics. It makes no network requests of its own and loads no remote code — everything it runs is bundled with the extension.

What It Stores

The extension saves your blocklist (channels and title keywords) and your feature preferences locally in your browser using the chrome.storage API. This data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. If you enable Chrome's built-in sync, Chrome may sync these settings across your own signed-in devices; TameTube itself never has access to them off your machine.

Permissions

TameTube requests only the storage permission (to save your settings) and access to youtube.com (so its content scripts can filter your feed, fix Shorts playback, force original audio, and add on-player controls). It accesses no other website and no other browser data.

Third-Party Services

TameTube contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking. It does not share data with anyone. Your use of YouTube itself remains governed by Google's own privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

TameTube does not collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
